Summer Solstice is the point at which the powers of nature are at their peak. The term solstice comes from the Latin solstitium which means, “sun stand still”. The solstice is when Mother Earth’s face tilt directly. Mother Earth will either point directly at or away from the sun. The sunrise halts its northern advance and hangs motionless on the horizon, bringing us to the longest day of the year.
All over Mother Earth, sisters will gather to pay respect to the solar energies of abundance. The Goddess is heavy with pregnancy, just like her crops. This is the perfect moment for herbs, both cultivated and wild, are at their greatest potency. Summer Solstice is the time for celebration of the Goddess’ power over men. Remember to connect through sexuality, abundance, and by embracing new ideas. Go outside to celebrate the sun. Have a blessed Summer Solstice Sisters.

Happy Summer Solstice, sometimes called Litha, to all our Sisters in Goddess in the Northern Hemisphere. May bounteous and fruitful blessings be yours!
We have quite a few SIGs in the Southern Hemisphere, and although this seems strange to us, they’re actually celebrating the Winter Solstice. Because of this phenomenon, I actually had the priviledge of celebrating THREE Summer Solstices in a row in a twelve-month period – I had gone to South Africa for 6 weeks in December and January and was there for their Summer Solstice, December 21.
So HAPPY SOLSTICE everyone (whichever one you’re celebrating!)

I feel the hot heavy green garden working in me as I spent my blessed Summer Solstice in the yard, replete with high sun and allergies too. The tomatoes are on the vine!!! Blessed Solstice to you my Sister Belou and all Sisters!
