Finding magick in the day-to-day

Reflect on all of the elements as you go about your normal everyday

life. Experience the Air as you observe the trees sway and the

birds and clouds as they journey across the sky. Even as the Air blow

from a fan know that the spirit of Air is with you.

Think about the magick that Fire brings as you drive your car — it keeps the

engine running. When you eat a hot meal or drink a hot beverage the spirit of

Fire touches you and you are invigorated from the warmth.  A campfire or even

the furnace brings comfort and tranquility to an otherwise chilly evening or day.

Experience the element of Water: as you put a load of laundry in the washing machine,

drive through the rain, or fix a kettle of tea.  The use of water in the process of taking a bath

or shower, has literally and figuratively a cleansing affect, it washes away impurities.

Throughout the day whenever you have the opportunity to walk on the

Earth, or even on pavement feel the Earth beneath your feet.

Consciously connect with her and the strength of the Earth will be

yours. If you must be inside all day carry a crystal with

you: to hold whenever you need that instant connection with Gaia.

Throughout the day, consciously invite the elements in and they

will be one with you.

Belou, my Sister and my Friend

Your words sounded like a breeze on my face! The biggest secrets are in the smallest things. People use the sacred elements all day long and they don´t even honor them (elements).

Thanks for reminding all of us of this!

    Blessings from your Sister

This is beautiful, Belou – and so important. I have been shut up in my crabby shell for a week now, and I appreciate the encouragment to venture out and feel the elements around me. I need that! And so I will take it to heart and go out on my deck to just experience the night. The stars – fire, the wind – air, the wood under my feet – earth, and the dampness soon to make the dew – water. Blessed Be!

As we rush around in our busy-bee lives, trying and often failing to find room for things of the spirit, it’s so easy to forget the small things.

The 5 elements are always there if we but pay attention. I love the old Buddhist saying: “Before enlightenment: chopping wood, carrying water. After enlightenment: chopping wood, carrying water.” Ahhh… but what a difference in perspective! Thanks for the reminder, dear Belou.

    Blessings,
    Eclecta

This is a wonderful article Belou! I could feel the warmth of the breezes circling me as if in meditation. Thank you for reminding us we are in touch with Mother Nature in so many different ways in our day to day life.

Belou, this is the third tyme I’ve returned to reread this article. Simply awesome. Simply held, simple contentment, simple blessings. I return to hold the breath of your words in my hand and return to the elements.

    Thank you dear one.
